The Matrix still holds a special place in Keanu Reeves’ heart, 25 years after the Academy Award-winning film debuted in theaters.
The award-winning actor had an already impressive acting career before he starred as Neo in the sci-fi action film. Though it wasn’t his first movie, The Matrix undoubtedly helped propel the actor’s career to incredible heights. Despite having been“The Matrix changed my life, and then over these years, it’s changed so many other people’s lives in really positive and great ways,” Reeves said during his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
He continued, “As an artist, you hope for that when you get to do a film or tell a story. So when you say these years, the amount of people that I have met who have said to me and been touched by The Matrix in such a positive way . . . It’s the best.”The Matrix remains one of Reeves’ best movies of all time. Due to the success of the first one, the movie spawned two sequels in 2003 . He then reprised his iconic role in 2021 in The Matrix Resurrections.
