The Prime Minister made a public pledge to Olivia Pratt-Korbel's mum two years on from her death
Keir Starmer has promised to meet with the mum of murdered Olivia Pratt-Korbel and introduce legislation following campaigning to make it compulsory for criminals to sit in the dock during sentencing. During Prime Minister's Questions at the House of Commons on Wednesday afternoon, the Prime Minister was questioned by Knowsley MP Anneliese Midgley over whether he intends to meet Cheryl Korbel, and if he will introduce the legislation.
This is really important and I know its felt across the house because to deprive the victims and their families of seeing the sentencing exercise is to deprive them of justice. 'I will meet with Cheryl, I have already met Cheryl and gave her the commitment last August that we will do this and I repeat it again today. I would also pay tribute to the campaign which she has led.
