The inside track on the football stories that matter
Keith Hackett believes that Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo should have received a red card for his late challenge on Pape Matar Sarr this past Sunday ., the former PGMOL chief, ex-FIFA, and Premier League referee believes the 23-year-old “knows exactly what he’s done” in that moment.
The Ecuador international caught Sarr on the shin with his studs-up, but Anthony Taylor opted to not punish him for the challenge. VAR didn’t intervene on the incident either as Caicedo avoided a red card which left Spurs fans fuming as they went on to lose the game. Tottenham had taken a two-goal lead in the first 11 minutes, but they ended up being defeated 4-3 as the Blues flipped the game on its head.
A brace from Cole Palmer and goals from Jadon Sancho and Enzo Fernandez proved to be too much for Ange Postecoglou’s team, with Son Heung-min’s late goal being nothing more than a consolation.Join the Football Insider WhatsApp channel to get all our exclusives and the breaking transfer news FIRST.“The Chelsea player is moving forward and he knows exactly what he’s done, he’s gone over the top.
