Keith Wyness can’t believe Everton could become Roma ‘feeder club’

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed the relationship between the Toffees and Roma will not be that of a normal multi-club system., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted neither side will be a “feeder club” as both teams are “prominent and historical”.

The Friedkin Group, who have owned Serie A giants Roma since 2020, have agreed a deal to buy Farhad Moshiri’s 94% stake at Everton. Roma won the Europa Conference League under the stewardship of the US investors in the 2021-22 campaign. The Giallorossi are three-time Scudetto winners while Everton have won the English first division on nine occasions. There could be synergy with sponsorships, but I don’t know if that is the priority right now.”
