The boxes of cereal potentially affected have been on sale in Tesco, One Stop, Londis, Budgens, Booker Premier stores and Booker Cash & Carry outlets.
Kellogg's has recalled boxes of its chocolate flavour Kellogg's Corn Flakes as they may contain hard lumps of food which have formed in the product. The company said the lumps have made 'the product unsafe to eat'. Kellanova, the company that makes Kellogg's cereals in Europe, said the recall was voluntarily issued after complaints from customers 'that a small proportion of boxes could contain hard lumps of cereal that do not break down when eaten with milk'.
A spokesperson for the company - which also makes Pringles and Special K - said: 'Making good food which is safe and high quality is our number one priority at Kellanova. 'Clusters of cereal forming during production can be a normal occurrence and these usually break up when eaten or placed in milk.
