Clive Hornby played one of Emmerdale's most iconic characters Jack Sugden
Kelvin Fletcher, 39, who grew up on Emmerdale and appeared in the ITV soap for 20 years. In the soap, Kelvin’s dad was played by Clive Hornby.
Since his Emmerdale exit, Kelvin has wowed in Strictly Come Dancing and has also become a farmer - featuring in documentaries about his lifestyle change. Emmerdale stalwart Jack left the village in 2008 in a storyline which saw him fly to Spain.Sadly, acting star favourite Clive died in 2009. Kelvin has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to him.
“A lovely friend from Emmerdale sent me some old pictures the other day,” Kelvin wrote. “If you’d have told me then what I’d be doing now I probably wouldn’t believe you.” He went on to explain the impact working with Clive had on him, and how he wanted to be just like him when he grew up. Kelvin added: “As for Clive, I really was in awe of him. He was a mentor, a friend and in many ways a genuine guardian. Not just of me but everyone at Emmerdale.“My character wanted to be just like him when he grew up and I guess a little bit of me did too.”As ever, we'll continue to bring you the big Emmerdale news about what is happening in the village and away from it.
