Greatest Hits Radio, owned by the Bauer Media Group, welcomes Bruce in April and recorded a 4.4 million audience, up 31 per cent across the year, with former BBC star Simon Mayo growing the reach of his Drivetime show to 1.5 million. Bruce, who was offered a one-year contract extension, was said to have asked bosses to stop making him play “tuneless dance music” as the playlist favoured contemporary hits over classics from the 70s and 80s.
