Former Rep. Ken Buck blasted Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for her stance against sending aid to Ukraine amid its war against Russia.
, less than a day before the House voted on and eventually passed the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, allocating $60.84 billion to the effort. Greene voted against the measure and referred to the vote as a ““Well, Moscow Marjorie has as reached a new low,” Buck said of his former colleague. “She is just mouthing the Russian propaganda and really hurting American foreign policy in the process. She’s acting completely irresponsibly.
Greene has earned recognition in Russian state-run media for her stance against sending aid to Ukraine. The congresswoman has also long called for the United States to withdraw from NATO.As a result of Johnson’s policy disagreements with Greene, she filed a motion to vacate the speaker last month, the same process used to initiate the removal of then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy in October 2023. McCarthy’s speakership was the shortest term in over a century at just over nine months.
Buck resigned from office last month, with over nine months remaining in his term, and he has yet to be replaced in a Colorado special election.
