Kerry Katona shocked fans when she announced on Instagram that she was 'single', hinting that she'd split from her fiancé of six years Ryan Mahoney. However, in a shocking turn of events, the 44 year old has now confirmed it was part of a joke to cheer up her mum.
Kerry implied the end of their relationship in a bizarre fan exchange on Thursday, October 31. The reveal came as the mum of five posted about visiting her ill mum Sue in hospital, who was rushed to A&E last month due to blood clots in her lungs. When a fan asked if the doctor treating her mum was single, Kerry cheekily replied: "No, but I am!".
Now it appears Kerry - in her latest Instagram post today - may have been joking about the split and only said she was single to cheer up her mum, Sue, who is currently ill in hospital. The star wrote the comment exchange was a "joke between me, my mum and best friend" about a doctor. Kerry explained that her mum has "the funniest sense of humour" and they were "playing along with her" to "cheer up".
The former Atomic Kitten singer got engaged to the 36 year old fitness trainer in 2021, but their romance has been anything but smooth sailing. The pair, who connected on Bumble in 2018 and got engaged in 2020, had been due to tie the knot in Las Vegas but pulled the plug on their Sin City nuptials at the last minute. Kerry has made no secret of the fact the couple had been arguing 'like cat and dog' with her OnlyFans work being said to be one of the biggest bones of contention.
Kerry has also been candid about her recent struggles and constant arguments with Ryan. She confessed that she's been having a hard time lately, even comparing the news about Liam Payne to the death of her late husband George. Kerry, proud mum of five - Lilly, Holly, Heidi, Max, and DJ - told OK! about her recent family struggles. She confessed: "This week my mum hasn't been well, her health is really declining and it is worrying for me. It's hard to see.
