It’s still unclear when the city plans to reopen Bienville Square to the public.
The 100-year-old refurbished downtown landmark was re-installed last month on its new basin in the park. Work is still underway on the $3.2 million renovation, which also includes new lighting, expanded seating and fresh sidewalks surrounding the area. The move for upgrades came after Hurricane Sally destroyed many of the oak trees in September 2020.
