Liam Scales rewarded for Celtic form as he signs new long-term deal.

The defender has agreed a new four-year deal which will see him remain at the champions until the summer of 2028.

The Republic of Ireland international joined the club in August 2021 under Ange Postecoglou, and he had to bide his time for a sustained run in the first team. A season-long loan at Aberdeen proved to work wonders for the 25-year-old, as this season he's established himself in the starting XI alongside a variety of defensive partners such as Cameron Carter-Vickers, Stephen Welsh and Maik Nawrocki. The three-times capped Ireland centre-back is determined to help the team get over the line in their bid for a league and cup double to finish the campaign.

“I love being part of this great club and I want to do all I can to contribute to Celtic and bring our fans as much success as we can.”And he's admitted he left the club under a cloud. The Cameroon international midfielder spent four years at Parkhead, although he joined Marseille on loan for the last six months, before moving to Swansea City three years ago.Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
