It will no longer be a quaint English tea room
Work has begun to transform a Nottingham tea room - once hailed the city's 'best kept secret' - into a new cafe and lounge called the Tusk & Raider. Quintessential tea room Thea Caffea closed suddenly just over a year ago, leaving customers with bookings in the lurch.
It's a new venture for Bang the Elephant Brewery's Michael Shipman and Nigel Patton in conjunction with their friend Damian Doherty, who shares their kit to brew as Emperor’s Brewery. As well as showcasing their craft beers, they hope to make it a whisky destination and serve artisan food.Pals Michael Shipman and Nigel Patton gave up their day jobs at Toyota six years ago to start brewing in an outbuilding at the back of Nigel's home.
