The 40-year-old reality star spoke candidly about the toll Odom's drug addiction took on their relationship, revealing that she spent years trying to save him. Kardashian shared a particularly poignant memory of Odom being offered a spot on Team USA, an opportunity she desperately hoped would motivate him.
'I remember he was asked to go to Team USA, if I remember correctly, and I was begging, \u2018Please, please go to Team USA,\u2019 and I was pushing, and I remember he just looked at me and said, \u2018You can\u2019t want it more than I do,\u2019 she recalled. That statement, she said, was a profound realization. It marked the moment she understood she couldn't force him to want recovery. 'That was the moment everything changed. It took me a long time to get to, then I had to file for divorce,' she admitted. Their marriage, which began in 2009, was further challenged by Odom's struggles with addiction and infidelity.
