The alleged mastermind escaped to Glasgow in 2018
The alleged mastermind of a kidnap and murder plot has made a final attempt to stay in Scotland after she fled to Glasgow.
The trio are fighting extradition to the US and have remained on remand in Scottish jails. One man across the pond has admitted his part in the failed attempt, reports the Record. They now have one final chance to avoid being sent back to face trial after lawyers lodged their case with the European Court of Human Rights.
“I don’t want the wrong person to be found guilty of the crime because then the person who did interact with the conspirators of this crime will still be out there. I’m not trying to evade a trial. It’s very important I do face trial, but I want to be able to do so from a safe country.” After the two children were secured by Hayes, Reburn and Frank Amnott would execute the parents before driving to the second house, force entry, and perform a similar execution. The affidavit by the Department of Justice said Hayes was disguised as a Mennonite when a parent opened the door before being held at gunpoint.
