Man United hired Kieran McKenna as their academy coach in 2016 and he is certain to manage in the Premier League next season.
Kieran McKenna is open to taking over as Manchester United manager should Erik ten Hag leave the club after the FA Cup final.
Brighton earmarked McKenna as their preferred choice to replace Roberto de Zerbi but it is understood they could be trumped by Chelsea or United. Sources say Chelsea have already held discussions with McKenna's representatives but he is reluctant to rush into a decision amid the possibility of a managerial change at United, who are believed to be his ideal destination.
Thomas Tuchel, who recently left Bayern Munich, would also relish a return to England at United, where he managed Bayern to victory in the Champions League group stage in December. Ten Hag is contracted to United until next year and the club has the option of an additional year. United finished eighth in the Premier League table - outside of the European qualifying places - but could qualify for the Europa League if they win the FA Cup.
