Killie have had to be creative in an effort to get a look at their Euro rivals in the flesh.
Derek McInnes has revealed a member of his Kilmarnock analyst team is set to go undercover as a Feyenoord fan to get a glimpse of Euro rivals Cercle Brugge.
“Everyone in Belgium plays with a back four apart from one team St Gilloise. So as a staff we've got a good handle on what was the team that qualified - but four or five of them won't be there as they had four loan players. We'll get a written report and eyes on them in the game against Feyenoord but we're quite familiar with the type of team they are.”
He said: “They're very British in their approach, a direct team and play with a lot of physicality and play the ball forward. They've got a front four who all interchange and a main striker Denkey who with 28 goals last season is the talk of the town. Killie continued their preparations with a 3-2 defeat at Ayr United in a fiercely competitive friendly on Thursday night.Goals from Brad Lyons and Robbie Deas failed to avert a derby defeat and the Rugby Park boss admitted his side were still a bit “undercooked”.
