Killie suffered a 2-1 loss to Dundee United in last night's play-off final
Kilmarnock Women’s boss Jim Chapman admitted he was full of pride for his team after their SWPL1 promotion hopes fell at the final hurdle.
Speaking to the Standard, he said: “We challenged the girls to give us everything and they certainly did that. I thought we were more than a match for them then there was a wee bit of slackness in our defending. “That’s testament to the academy and the structure at the club that we can produce players who come into the first team and perform well.
The game started out as a cagey affair in Falkirk before Dundee United started to take control of proceedings and Killie had keeper Ellie Currie to thank for three impressive saves as the first half wore on denying Morgan Steedman and Niamh Noble before a terrific stop with her legs as Rachel Todd looked to open the scoring.
