A British man missing in California is believed to have tried to fake his own death.
Police in Monterey County spent two days searching for Kim Gordon, who was visiting the US with his 17-year-old son. According to his son, Gordon had said he wanted to go for a swim at Monastery Beach, Carmel, on Monday evening but he disappeared.Divers searched the beach but officers became suspicious when the boy's story changed, with different versions of how the pair had come to the county.
Captain John Thornburg from the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, told KION News:"The story we were given by the son can't answer those questions and that's where it all starts to fall apart.
