King Charles III is slowly returning to work as he continues to be treated for cancer. On Tuesday, the British monarch attended his first public engagement since his diagnosis.The king met with Martina Milburn, CEO of the Prince’s Trust, at Buckingham Palace, before heading to an audience with community faith leaders from across the United Kingdom—alumni of the Windsor Leadership Trust—in the billiard room at the palace.
In his first address to the nation and the commonwealth in 2022, he even spoke of his continued desire to serve everyone with loyalty, respect, and love, whatever their background or beliefs.Charles’s first public engagement comes as Harper’s Bazaar learned from a royal source that the king has been “frustrated” with his cancer diagnosis, particularly with the fact that he cannot do as much of what he loves—which is work.
