The first address to the nation by its new King, Charles III, will be broadcast at 6pm on Friday, it has been confirmed. The late Queen’s eldest son is flying back to London from Aberdeen, having travelled to Balmoral to be with the 96-year-old in her final hours. It’s believed the address will have been pre-recorded earlier on Friday before being shown in a pre-booked slot on the BBC.The 73-year-old will also hold his first audience as monarch with new prime minister Liz Truss.
