King Charles III has jetted to Scotland alongside the Queen Consort to see out the remainder of the Royal period of mourning, which will end on Monday 26 September
King Charles III has headed to Scotland alongside the Queen Consort, following his late mother Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral on 19 September.
Dad-of-two Charles has previously described Birkhall as "a unique haven of cosiness and character", and he and Camilla even spent some of their honeymoon at the peaceful abode.The property was purchased by Queen Victoria in 1849 for her son Edward VI, after being built in 1715. The front door is painted green and features two glass panels, and the entire home is covered with greenery with two concrete steps leading to the doorway.
The Drawing Room, where he opened the new NHS Nightingale hospital in London remotely via video, is filled with framed family photographs, including one of Charles and Camilla on their wedding day in 2005.
