Kmart has confirmed a major new trial, which will see sweeping changes to checkouts and services at one popular store The retail giant has revealed that the Eastland store in Melbourne will implement a number of new “store elements and ideas” over the next year.
Kmart moves checkouts in shock new trial 7NEWS.com.au understands that the changes include new digital initiatives and services, new visual merchandising and making more space for key future merchandise ranges. Also included in the changes is moving checkouts from the centre of the store to the front, meaning they’re closer to the exit. Kmart has faced backlash from many customers since moving the self-serve and manned checkouts to the middle of stores in 2015.
