Knife maniac ‘stabs two Muslim women wearing hijabs’ in Pittsburgh rampage
Two women wearing hijabs have been stabbed in the street in Pittsburgh, it has been reported.
The incident took place outside a clothes store in the downtown of the Pennsylvania city at around 11.30am local time.One is now in a critical condition, the other sustained minor injuries.Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert said a police officer had been talking to one woman when a man approached from behind and stabbed her.
He then reportedly stabbed a second woman before being subdued by the officer and taken into custody.Schubert said a motive was not immediately known, but both women are thought to have been wearing hijabs, a headdress worn by some Muslim women.
