Deep Vellum founder Will Evans, center, hams it up with friends inside the Hotel Swexan, whose library hosted the ceremony that made Evans a chevalier of the Order of Arts & Letters, an event sponsored by Villa Albertine in partnership with the Alliance Francaise of Dallas.
“I wanted to meet the world,” he told the audience. And he did this through books, but he brought the rest of us along for the ride, what a guy. No wonder the French wanted to honor him. He’d become the largest publisher of French literature in the history of the English language.
