The body of a partner at big-four accounting firm KPMG has been found in a national park in Queensland. When police found the body of 43-year-old David Ibels in Springbrook National Park in the Gold Coast hinterland on Monday, they also found the body of a missing 75-year-old man. Thornlands man William Marshall had not been seen since July 10. His car was found on August 3 but police were unable to locate him until now. Their deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
His black Porsche Cayenne was found at Purling Brook Falls in Springbrook National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland on Sunday afternoon. The discovery sparked a joint operation by police and QFES at the location, before police recovered his and Marshall’s bodies. A friend of Ibels had earlier posted to the Mt Tambourine community Facebook page looking for assistance in locating him. “A very good friend and colleague has gone missing in the Mt Tambourine area,” the friend said.
