The striker and defender were involved in a tussle and a massive talking point has flared up.
Referee Don Robertson and VAR official Alan Muir have sparked major Old Firm recriminations from pundits by disallowing Kemar Roofe's potential opener for Rangers.
Cyriel Dessers and Gustaf Lagerbielke were tussling for the ball inside the Celtic half and the Light Blues striker came out on top with the Swedish defender left in a heap. He cut the ball back for Roofe who fired beyond Joe Hart to send Ibrox into raptures but Walsh soon turned to the monitor after being called over by VAR official Muir.
The home crowd initially thought he had stuck with his initial decision but it was short-lived joy as the Rangers players were left head in hands as a free-kick was awarded to their rivals. Record Sport columnists Chris Sutton and Kenny Miller are on Sky Sports co-commentary duty for the game. Sutton pointed: "I think Celtic are surrounding Don Robertson saying there was a foul on Lagerbielke." And Miller responded with "That's not a foul though Chris, he just gets outmuscled.
Sutton asked "how much contact" before admitting "You could say it's soft, I can see that being a call either way in truth." Miller, however was furious, he said "It's ridiculous if he gets the free kick for that." Kris Boyd was along the same lines of his former Rangers strike partner and added: "It's a shocking decision. You can see Lagerbielke kicks the back of Dessers. All we hear is we want to see more goals and more entertainment, that there is a goal. How that can be brought back for a foul is incredible. Don Robertson once he goes over there has to be stronger. He's made the decision on field and has to be stronger.
