She wrote in her book, “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward,” how shot the 14-month-old wirehaired pointer she was training for pheasant hunting. Noem has tried to reframe the story from two decades ago as an example of her willingness to make tough decisions. She wrote on social media that Cricket had shown aggressive behavior by biting.
