These images have been unseen for decades

Taken back in August 1978, it's been almost 46 years since these images of Station Road in Ainsdale and the surrounding area were first captured.and are from a feature on what the area was like at the time. But for us in the present - they serve as a fascinating glimpse into the past.that called it home. Standouts include the lost Kwik Save shop chain, the popular Tiffany's nightclub and an Amoco petrol station, before the brand became known as BP.
In the photographs, you can also see pedestrians and cars on the busy road and people going about their day to day life.
