Star Australian swimmer Kyle Chalmers has declared the 2024 Paris Olympics will be his last. 7NEWS
“ will be the last Olympics, definitely, for me,” he told SEN’s Sydney breakfast show.
“But it’s definitely quite challenging having these 17, 18-year-old kids on the team, and they kind of make up most of it. Just having things in common to talk about is a challenge at times. “Funnily enough, just before I retired, the young 18-year-old at the time on the team was Kyle Chalmers,” Magnussen said on SEN.
“Towards the end of my career, all these younger swimmers would bring PlayStations with them, and so you’d finish training and you’d say, ‘What’s going on today, boys? What are we up to?’ And they’d say, ‘We’re going back to the hotel room to play PlayStation’. “For me, I’m laboring on a building site two days a week, which is just something away from the pool for my mental health — something different, different stimulus, different dudes,” he said in June.
