'He is a silly little brat who doesn’t act like an adult, he acts like a child.' Simon Jordan has slammed the behaviour of tennis' Nick Kyrgios
, after naming Ash Barty as the winner of the Newcombe Medal for the fifth time.
Kyrgios reached his first Grand Slam final earlier this year at Wimbledon, where he was beaten by Novak Djokovic, and won the doubles title at the Australian Open in January.Barty won the Australian Open, the third Grand Slam title of her career, in January, but retired in March. slammed the decision and took aim by posting his record for the year against Barty’s, to apparently show why he should have received the award instead.Except that he clearly does. The Aussie star has cast himself as the pantomime villain of the tennis world in recent years, with a series of on-court outbursts varying from smashing rackets, arguing with umpires and even yelling at spectators.
Last month he also opted to skip the Davis Cup final in favour of a six-figure pay day to play an event in Saudi Arabia, with Australia going on to lose that final to Canada without their star man.Peacock said the tennis-loving Australian public are quite used to it, but still are not impressed.“Why would he post something like this if he didn’t care? He absolutely cares, and he feels ripped off.“But Ash Barty won a Grand Slam and then retired.
“It’s unfortunate for Nick, because he came up with the second best by making the final of Wimbledon, but it [his social media outburst] has not been well received down here. “But the relationship with Kyrgios and Australia can be described as love/hate/love/hate/love/hate x 100million, and it just goes around and around. talkSPORT BET OFFER OF THE DAY
