Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has been slammed online for a “savage” comment he made about the lack of notable names at the US Open.

The 2022 Wimbledon finalist replied to a post from tennis journalist Jose Morgado which showed a section of the men’s draw with only one big name due to the early exits of Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas and America’s Chris Eubanks.

Several fans who saw the comment quickly took aim at Kyrgios for taking a shot at the competitors while he sat on the sidelines. “Guys that are grinding it out, not playing Pokémon while mocking those that play,” replied one more.
