The Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners is expected to enter closed session Tuesday and discuss the appointment of a permanent police chief.
The commissioners are in the process of interviewing candidates with the goal of selecting one person to step into the role as the permanent chief of police. Former Chief Michel Moore retired at the end of February, later Richard Tefank, who served as executive director for the commissioners for nearly two decades, retired in March. The board is also in the process of finding a candidate to fill Tefank’s former position.
