The Andrews government has reacted to an overnight snap decision that risks the future of Melbourne’s highly anticipated Airport Link.
announced a snap look into hundreds of projectsLabor claims that the infrastructure roadmap blew out from about 150 projects to a massive 800 as a result of the Coalition government “clogging the pipeline with press release projects”.
Ms Allan, Victoria’s Transport Minister, has thrown her support behind the 90 day review of infrastructure projects, which does not include the contentious Suburban Railway Loop.“Many of those projects were not well thought out, weren’t done in consultation with almost anyone, particularly not the Victorian state government.”
The Melbourne Airport Link received a $5 billion commitment in federal funding in 2018 and was matched by the Andrews government at the time.
