Labor ministers were out and about, spruiking a plan to make more GP visits free for children under 16, pensioners, and concession card holders.Health Minister Mark Butler believes this move will stop a long-standing shift away from the service. The way the rebates are calculated means GPs won’t get three times as much per visit, instead it’s around 34 per cent more in major cities and around 50 per cent more in regional areas.
