The Greens Party has joined the Coalition in blocking Labor’s signature $10 billion housing fund, claiming it does not go far enough to support renters.
The fund included a promise of creating 30,000 new dwellings in its first five years including homes for frontline workers who are priced out of the suburbs they work in.
The Greens say they would consider supporting the bill if it could be amended to include more provisions for affordable housing.
