The Labour Party has been ramping up spending ahead of the mayoral election despite being ahead in the polls
and Google Ads data reveals that Labour has spent almost triple the amount the Tories have on London-based online adverts over the last 30 days: £87,400 to the Conservatives’ £31,700.
While Mr Khan has been posting campaign content from his main Facebook page, which has 746,000 followers, throughout the mayoral race, he has opted to pay for adverts from the London Labour Party account, which has just 8,900 followers. Many of the adverts directly point to the Labour Mayor’s concerns about the tightness of the race, with one post claiming that the last election was “extremely close” and urging people to “lend Labour your vote” on polling day.
Susan Hall’s campaign has created a Facebook page titled ‘Sadiq Khan Won’t Listen’ to promote attack ads
