A recent MRP poll suggests that the Labour Party is just over 6 points away from potentially winning a Tory seat in Yorkshire, which has been held by the Tories for around 150 years. The seat is considered a safe Tory seat, but Labour's candidate believes that the Conservatives have taken rural communities for granted.
The seat has been held by some iteration of the Tories for around 150 years, with Labour not getting more than 30 per cent of the vote since the 70s. It’s therefore striking that one MRP poll released late last month for Best for Britain put Sir Keir Starmer’s party just over 6 points away from what would be the second biggest upset in the upcoming general election in Yorkshire .
