Review on ticketing is likely to focus on transparency for the consumer over pricing
A Labour review of controversial so-called surge pricing that saw Oasis fans stung with unexpected inflated ticket costs is likely to stop short of an outright ban,Sir Keir Starmer on Monday said the Government would get a “grip” on so-called dynamic pricing after some fans werewhen standard tickets prices doubled from £148 to £355 while they queued on Ticketmaster on Saturday due to demand for the Britpop band’s reunion tour.
But critics said it was not made sufficiently clear to Oasis fans that the same model would be used for the band’s reunion tour., and will also look at restricting the price of resold tickets to set percentage of their original price, or limiting the number of tickets that resellers can list. “So we’ll grip this and make sure that actually tickets are available at a price that people can actually afford.”
