The wife of former Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson has died, the family have announced in a statement.
Lady Cathy Ferguson, the wife of former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, has died at the age of 84, the family have announced. The Ferguson family confirmed the death of Lady Cathy in a statement on Friday afternoon.
Lady Cathy supported Sir Alex through the life-threatening brain haemorrhage he suffered in May 2018. It was Lady Cathy who helped talk Sir Alex out of his initial plans to retire in 2002. Writing in his autobiography, he revealed she had told him: "One, your health is good. Two, I’m not having you in the house. And three, you’re too young anyway."
