MANILA, Philippines: The FEU Lady Tamaraws finished the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball first round as the fourth seed team with a 4-3 win-loss card. Those three losses came at the hands of the top three teams in the unbeaten UST Golden Tigresses , defending champs De La Salle Lady Spikers , and the NU Lady Bulldogs .Despite losing to the aforementioned teams, FEU head coach Manolo Refugia believes that his players showed that they can keep up with their first round tormentors.
The emphasis of our preparation for this second round is to catch up to whatever skills those teams are ahead of so we can study them better.'If anything, FEU has already started narrowing that gap between them and the top three teams after having logged a season-best 15 blocks against Ateneo which only tallied two.'With regards to those 15 blocks, we're really working on it in our practices and we really studied what it's like to compete against Ateneo.
