Laid is a romantic comedy with a deadly twist as former lovers of Ruby Yao discover to their detriment
The television series, launched by Peacock this week in the US, is a remake of the Australian series of the same name, delving in to the chaos of modernwho finds out her former lovers are dying one by one, in unusual ways and in the order she dated them.
After this becomes apparent, she is forced to trawl back through her dating timeline and confront her complicated past love life – the guys, the girls and the one-night stands. With the help of her best friend AJ and old flame Richie , she must then try and work out what is going on, track them down and warn them.
Described by the makers of the show as “a f**ked-up rom-com” where the answer to “Why can’t I find love, is there something wrong with me?” is a resounding “Yes, there is. The problem is definitely you.”premiers in the US on Thursday 19 December, with all eight half-hour episodes available to watch from just after midnight .
