The latest release from Wilson’s upcoming albumcontinues her equine theme with help from another country songwriter who knows her way around a stable: “Good Horses” is a duet withwrote the easygoing track, which delivers a “don’t fence me in” message of wanderlust, but with the reassurance that those roaming always return to the ones they love.
“31 years is a long time coming/Feet off the ground but I’ma still running,” Wilson, now 32, sings in the first verse, before tossing the reins to Lambert, who voices Wilson’s own origin story: “Come a long way since I left Louisiana/My dream tied on like a red bandana.” They come together throughout the song to put a lover’s mind at ease, singing, “If you wanna love me/You don’t need a rope/You just need to know/Good horses come home.
