Lake District hike among best in the world ahead of Inca trail and Kilimanjaro treks
Completing world-famous walking trails is a bucket list-esque task for many. Follow the path to the road heading away from the lake shore . Head over the cattle grid and walk around 50 metres. The path will leave the road and bend in a steep zig zag shape up the main breast of Skelgill Bank. The path will then level out then steepen again, all the way to the summit of Cat Bells. You may be required to scramble in certain sections but they should not be too taxing.
Visit Keswick If you're keen to take on the Catbells circular then the characteristic market town of Keswick is the ideal place to base your stay. The lakeside town is surrounded by rugged fells and is a picturesque location to stay overnight, with plenty of accommodation types on offer.
