Law Director Ernie Vargo recently presented tentative settlement resolutions for City Council’s approval, which is expected later this month.
LAKEWOOD , Ohio -- “Broadly, the Marine Tower garage collapse was a high-profile incident here in the city,” he said. “We had to negotiate extensively with Marine Towers, the management company and the contractor.Under the proposed settlements, Lakewood will receive $37,000 from Atlas Masonry Restoration and Maintenance, Burton Carol Management and Marine Towers Limited Liability Company.
“We did have safety services over there immediately,” he said. “They did yeoman’s work at risk to them because there was great concern with public safety. The other resolution yet to be approved addresses a tentative settlement between Lakewood and Cuyahoga County.
