Frank Lampard called up Chelsea’s Under-14 captain to senior training on Thursday in a move that the promising star will never forget.

Charlie Holland was spotted training at Cobham with first-team stars such as Thiago Silva, Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling ahead of the clash against Nottingham Forest.The youngster lined up between Mykhailo Mudryk ahead of a training drill Footage of Thursday’s training session captured the 14-year-old talking to England international Conor Gallagher and lining up alongside £88million winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

Holland was rewarded by Lampard after he captained the U-14s to a 5-0 victory in the Albert Phelan Cup South final against Fulham earlier this month.has been an advocate of promoting talent from the club’s academy having helped launch the careers of Mason Mount, Reece James, Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham.Holland’s promotion has come at an early stage in his career with youth players usually at the point of representing the U18s or U21s before training with the senior squad.

But with little left to play for this season, Lampard believed the time was right to call Holland up for the experience of a lifetime.
