The website has linked the spike in affairs to the housing crisis as couples struggle to keep up with soaring rental rates, making cheating a "cheaper and more accessible" option to divorce. "High mortgage repayments, rising rent, sky-high energy bills, an increase in food prices – with all of this financial strain is it any wonder that relationships are being so badly affected?
