Disruption to travel is likely over the weekend
Many of us will be driving home for Christmas this weekend - but weather warnings may make this a difficult trip for many.
For Sunday , this wind travels further south and the prolonged period of winds is likely to lead to further disruption. The meteorological service states people should expect delays to road, air and ferry transport. The Met Office states: "Strong westerly winds are expected to develop through the course of Saturday, with gusts of 50-60 mph developing quite widely across this region, and a small chance of gusts reaching 70 mph around some coasts and high ground areas.
