Dr Kate Ogah has admitted an 'error of judgement' in working shifts for two hospital trusts at the same time
A doctor who simultaneously worked shifts for two hospital trusts during the pandemic has said she did so because she was responding to a "call to arms".
Dr Ogah said that believed that, in working from home, she was able to carry out duties for both hospital trusts. The MPTS panel accepted that Dr Ogah had completed her work for both trusts sufficiently and both have admitted they "would not have been able to meet the demands placed on them without Dr Ogah".
The former medical director of UHMBT, referred to as Dr G, supported Dr Ogah throughout the investigation. Dr G told the panel: "She recognised that it was naïve and a crass error of judgement. Without seeking to condone or exonerate, I believe that our discipline constitutes a somewhat greyer area than many other medical specialities."
