It comes as data has been released by the Department for Education.
New data has shone a light on Lancashire's schools with the worst truancy rate. It's revealed that skiving children are worst in one small primary school in West Lancs.
It means that students at Downholland-Haskayne had an unauthorised absence rate of 14.7%, which is higher than at any other state-run primary or secondary school in Lancashire. South Shore Academy in Blackpool had the next highest rate, with 12.1% of sessions missed. That’s followed by Blackpool Aspire Academy , Highfield Leadership Academy , The Valley Leadership Academy , and Darwen Vale High School .
That works out as 20.8% of pupils in our region. A student is classed as persistently absent if they miss 10% of sessions or more in an academic year.
