A 27-year-old Los Angeles Police Department officer was in stable condition at a hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to a hand in Pacoima on Friday, Feb. 16.The shooting happened around 8:20 a.m., shortly after officers responded to a residence in the 13200 block of Paxton Street regarding a report of a restraining-order violation, the LAPD said.
According to police, when officers arrived, they were directed to the suspect, who was in a back house. As officers entered and encountered resistance, the suspect’s handgun was discharged, injuring the officer, according to an LAPD statement. A Taser was deployed with no effect, police said.
